The Hale Cocoa Farm is a working farm with 1000 coffee trees, 600 cocoa trees, 500 White Pineapple and various Polynesian "canoe plants." The "all ages" tour is 1.5-2 hours long where we explore Hawaiian plants, coffee, pineapples and then focus on cacao/cocoa. Visitors will open cocoa pods, try local pineapples and sip coffee varietals (or sip chocolate for kids). They will finish with a tasting of 5-7 chocolates made from cocoa beans of varying Big Island regions. $24-$30

This tour is offered Wed-Saturday afternoons at 3pm and is best suited for adults and older teens. You will learn about cacao/chocolate, coffee, pineapples and other plants and food that grow on this tropical farm. This tour has a lot of tasting along the way of various Hawaiian ingredients plus coffee variations and a chocolate tasting. We optionally end at the Theatery Restaurant for a savory chocolate and bar treat. $35
While most of our cacao is grown in the wet and volcanic Puna District on the east side of Big Island, the Donkey Mill Farm was added in 2021 from one of our Kona farmers who sold us their coffee and cocoa beans but wanted to retire. This farm has everything and is a natural, yet working farm.
